If you’ve spent any time on Bored Panda, you’ve probably come across comics by none other than Cameron Spires. His comics are the type of cartoons that will give you a nice laugh and the boost you need to get through the day or end it on a happy note.
Cameron’s comics are notorious for featuring absurd situations based on real-life events, and some are so unpredictable that even if you’ve seen similar comics before, you might have a hard time guessing the true outcome of the comics you’re reading! Spires’ characters may appear straightforward, but the situations they find themselves in are anything but.

Cam granted Bored Panda an exclusive interview the last time he did it. First, we inquired about any key influences in the cartoonist’s life that may have aided in the development and refinement of his style.
“Absolutely! From a young age, Gary Larson of The Farside and the Simpsons influenced my entire sense of humour and personality, and more recently, comics like Extrafabulous continue to inspire me.”

Cameron also claims that the most of his comics ideas come from work, particularly when he is meant to be doing something else. The comic artist certainly appears to have a lot of imagination; nevertheless, as luck would have it, the best ideas often arrive when you least expect them, when you have more important things to accomplish; such is the life of an artist.

Because art, in any form, takes a long time to practise as well as to produce, we asked Toothy how long it takes him to complete his comics.
“I have two children and a full-time job, so I try to do them in 1-2 hours, depending on the complexity.”
