Mom Of Four Illustrates Her Everyday Motherhood Problems In 22 Honest Illustrations

Life as a parent can be hectic, but Kayela Larson, a mother of four, has found a creative outlet for the turmoil. Larson’s sketches are endearingly amusing, depicting life as a mother and all the amusing craziness that comes with raising small children.

Classic Disney films like The Little Mermaid and The Lion King inspired the artist’s love of painting and animation, which she pursued throughout her life. After college, she married and had children, and her time for art began to dwindle. “I realised I wanted to engage myself,” Larson said one night at the kitchen table after a particularly difficult day of parenting. She wrote, “in something that made me feel the most like myself.”

A once-calming and cathartic passion now felt uncomfortable and alien to her. “As I stared at my clumsy cartoon drawing, I realised that “artist” was one aspect of my identity that I wasn’t ready to give up just yet. That must have been the wake-up call I wanted because I went to work right away.”

Larson recovered her faith and fine-tuned her style, as shown by her work. With her funny parenting comics, she now uses life to fuel her art. Check out her job by scrolling down!
