Artist Creates Illustrations That Reveal The Absurdity Of Modern Times (30 Pics) – The Far Side

If you’ve lived long enough in this world, you’re probably aware of how bizarre life can be. It’s always been strange, but in today’s world, absurdity pervades every aspect of our existence. But life doesn’t have to make sense all of the time, and that’s fine. There are some benefits to it as well: for one thing, individuals use life’s absurdity as an endless source of inspiration for their beautiful works. And today’s artist, Santiago Bara, whose illustrations you’re about to see, is one of those persons who laughs at ridiculousness and enjoys making other people laugh as well.Perhaps the best remedy for this existential crisis is humour. There’s enough of material to draw inspiration from, judging by how absurd our brave new world is turning out to be, and we’re grateful that artists like Santiago try to make the horrible interesting.

Santiago Bara was incredibly gracious and volunteered to speak with Bored Panda about himself and his work, and here is what he had to say: “My name is Santiago Bará. I’m from Moaa, a small village on Spain’s Atlantic coast. I’ve always enjoyed comics and drawing, but it wasn’t until around 2010 that I decided to try my hand at long-form comics. To do this, I began creating these small cartoons as a warm-up for larger projects. It’s more of a tangent. They’ve evolved into something more since then, though.

“I think about that constantly, in order to attempt to find whether there’s a strategy behind it,” he replied when asked what motivates and inspires him to create comics. And I don’t believe so; each concept stems from a unique circumstance. But I believe there is a common thread that runs through all of them, and that is that they frequently occur when one’s expectations of the world collide with what one finds. When we look at everyday occurrences that we take for granted from a distance, they can appear weird. That could be an excellent place to start.

The positive feedback I’ve received from my readers makes me happy and motivates me to keep creating. What intrigues me the most is how frequently the reactions deviate significantly from what I would predict. Readers frequently surprise me with their viewpoints and provide me with new perspectives on my work.”

Santiago was friendly and offered some advice to the next generation of comic book creators. “I would advise starting small and steadily, without having big expectations. Don’t get discouraged if it takes a long time. The times increase shorter as you acquire experience. We frequently make the error of projecting the cost of time and effort we experienced at the start of the learning curve to our future predictions.”
